Our Platform
In 2008, Softhouse, in collaboration with Hallmark, developed the HRIS platform: Hallmark Retail Internet Services. HRIS made life easier for thousands of retailers in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, and England by making Hallmark products and services easily accessible.
Hallmark Cards Continental Europe partnered with Softhouse to meet the needs of the modern retailer. Through the HRIS platform, retailers could order Hallmark products, download product brochures and barcodes, and return seasonal Hallmark products.
Before the development of HRIS, these tasks were performed by account managers who had to visit retailers. Thanks to Softhouse’s application, this process was greatly accelerated and simplified.
Why HRIS?
HRIS is a prime example of how smart code can replace a labor-intensive process. Thanks to HRIS, Hallmark’s account managers had more time to focus on their customers.
At its peak, this platform was used by more than 5,000 retailers in the Benelux and Germany. In 2020, Hallmark and Softhouse decided not to continue the platform, and its operation was ceased. However, the knowledge gained about the European retail market has not been lost. Lessons learned are embedded in Softhouse’s quality system. Do you face a similar challenge as Hallmark? Since 2001, Softhouse has served the equestrian world with EQUIS. Over 90% of all Dutch registrations are processed via our platform, and at least 70% of Dutch stallion holders report coverings digitally through EQUIS. EQUIS is used in 7 countries.
