Softhouse, in collaboration with the Royal Association The Friesian Horse Studbook (KFPS), developed the animal registration platform EQUIS. At the time, the association, with 15,000 members spread across the globe, was seeking a platform to manage pedigree data. Today, EQUIS is the world's most widely used studbook solution.
In 2001, Softhouse began developing this comprehensive registration platform tailored for the equine industry. The platform is designed to record and manage horse pedigree data, which is essential for breed improvement and breeding programs, offering detailed insights into the genetic background of horses.
A unique feature of EQUIS was its status as an online web application, complete with a robust self-service portal for members. In 2004, Softhouse, supported by several major studbooks in the Netherlands, consolidated its equine activities with CRV, a cooperative of Dutch and Flemish dairy and beef farmers.
Additionally, Media Primair, an equestrian design and marketing agency, joined the initiative, leading to the establishment of Delta Horses. Softhouse reacquired the platform initially developed for KFPS, incorporated it into Delta Horses, and further developed it into a registration platform suitable for multiple client environments.
Shortly after, CRV withdrew from the equine market and decided not to participate. However, CRV introduced its equine clients to Delta Horses and contributed the EQUIS brand name. Delta Horses now offers all functionalities required by studbooks, along with features to comply with international laws and regulations.

Hallmark Retail Platform
In 2008, Softhouse collaborated with Hallmark to develop an online platform for ordering greeting cards, product brochures, gifts, and stationery. At its peak, 5,000 retailers in the Benelux and Germany used our platform.
